Although these standards are not of practical use for the formulation of commercial pet foods, they do provide a compilation of pertinent research on the topic of companion animal nutrition. NRC priporočila (1985) in rezultati analiz celega plena (torej whole prey in NE franken prey, kot ljudje hranijo!) so večinoma primerljivi! (glej Nutrient composition of whole vertebrate prey (excluding fish) fed in ZOOs).
As it turns out, when whole prey was analyzed, it meets NRC numbers. Due to this it’s easy to understand why a diet, be it whole prey, or analyzed to meet NRC, will work well. The trouble is that few people actually feed a whole animal.

NRC 2006 - tanova NRC priporočila iz leta 2006, plačljiva, z dovoljenjem pa objavljena tudi v knjigi Optimal nutrition, v tej tabelci niso navedena, jih je pa nekdo dal na internet. Jaz jih nisem in jih ne mislim limat sem ali kamorkoli drugam.
